A lot of you have been asking me “so…what’s next in the fight against Amendment One?”  Well…here you go! :)

"Most ads for marriage equality feature a bunch of pleasant talking heads saying soothing things about their nice families and the importance of treating people fairly. They are very polite and maudlin and zzzzzzzzz…

This is not one of those ads.

Smarting from a harsh loss on Amendment One, which imposed a constitutional ban on the freedom to marry, Equality North Carolina is now going on the offensive. Turns out, they’re kind of scary when they’re mad.”

Newest addition to my car.
I’ve been debating it for a few days now, and I decided that if I didn’t do this, I would regret it.  I have to do what I can.
Also, “I wonder if the person who owns that car is a liberal,” said no one about my vehicle, ever.

This is awesome.  I seriously considered doing something like this as well.  We should all do this!

In #NC, more evidence of Obama’s approach to gay rights

Two weeks from now, North Carolina will hold a public referendum on what could become one of the toughest anti-gay measures in the country: a far-reaching proposal to amend the state constitution to ban civil unions and domestic partnerships. But President Obama is not expected to touch the subject when he appears in Chapel Hill on Tuesday — even though it is roiling the electorate there.

Instead, Obama will talk about college loans, his aides said, kicking off a two-day, three-state tour designed to energize the youth vote. His delicate sidestep of Amendment One, a ballot initiative to be decided May 8 that would recognize marriage between a man and a woman as the only legal domestic partnership in North Carolina, is seen by some as another sign that he is not fully committed to gay rights — an interpretation that could dampen the enthusiasm of the young voters he is trying to court.

So maybe some (all) of you should show up with VOTE AGAINST AMENDMENT ONE signs and make him talk about it.  He’s a pretty chill guy.  I bet he would.

Attention Onslow and Craven County, #NC!

voteagainstamendmentone:

Who needs a #voteagainst #amendment1 yard sign?  I’ll have some by Saturday to put up in town or for your yard.  I can meet people in New Bern or Jacksonville to give it to them but I can’t ship them.

Message me in my ask or tweet me!

https://twitter.com/#!/NOonAmendment1

PLEASE everyone reblog this.  Eastern NC is covered in Vote FOR signs.  I know that there are people out there that want vote against signs but they don’t know where to get them.  Post this on your facebook and help me get the word out!

I also need people in the area who want to organize and educate undecided voters on the harms of amendment one before they vote.  Thanks!
